Hotel Review: W Chicago City Center
My good friend Quinn and I stayed at the W Chicago City Center, located at 172 E. Adams, last night and enjoyed it thoroughly, with a few caveats. First off, the hotel itself is gorgeous. The lobby is spacious and well-designed, with complimentary wi-fi and some nice little tables on the mezzanine level. But the room itself was rather cramped, and the furnishings were a little too modern for me, leaving me with the impression that I was staying in somebody’s dorm room.
I really enjoyed using the Acura Experience to get around downtown, much more convenient than getting a cab, and nicer, too! Just hit the “Whatever, Whenever” button on your phone and they’ll have the car ready for you when you get downstairs, for any ride within 3 miles of the hotel.
However, the “wish” theme of the hotel (the service operator answers each call with, “What is your wish?”) gets a little annoying, as do the swirling lights in the foyer and the elevators. A nice hotel, but better left for the twenty-something set.
I will be in Chicago for the rest of the week, offering incall at a 4-star hotel near O’Hare. Outcall is also available at O’Hare, on the Blue Line, and downtown.
XOXO,
Aina
